To the people of Henderson County

June 29, 2022

It has been a privilege to serve as your judge-executive the last six years. In that time we’ve accomplished a lot. Working together, we’ve put the county on a path to growth and prosperity not experienced here in decades.

When I took office, I knew my number one priority was to lead from the front, to address with courage and conviction the financial and policy challenges county government faced at the time despite the fact those decisions might be difficult or controversial.

We are in much a better place now.

With the help of all of you, your magistrates, elected officials, department heads and their team members, Henderson County Government has become an asset to this community, not a liability. We are more transparent, more efficient and more effective. We have completely eliminated all county debt, increased services and improved equipment. We’ve invested more in roads, bridges, law enforcement and customer service. We’ve increased support for vital non-profit organizations. We’ve helped create new jobs and new opportunities.

The county is now in the best financial shape in its history. Our rainy day fund is now healthy enough to handle nearly any emergency, help land any economic development deal, and cushion the blow from any unfunded mandate from Frankfort or Washington, D.C. We’ve done all this without raising county taxes by a single penny in the last six years.

But there is more work to be done. The job is not finished, and that’s why I’m so excited to be running for re-election

We’ll continue to focus on job creation, With the arrival of Pratt Industries’ new cardboard plant and significant expansions at Columbia Sportswear and Sitex, Henderson County is poised for even more opportunities. I’ll use my economic development expertise to help maximize those gains for our community.

While the construction of Section 1 of the I-69 bridge gets underway, we’ll continue to invest more in local infrastructure,, both for your safety and to aid commerce. We’ll also invest in affordable, reliable, high-speed broadband internet service that reaches every Henderson Countian. And we’ll continue to manage our resources with diligence and care so that we can provide the quality services county residents expect without placing any further burdens on taxpayers. We’re committed to doing all we can to help make Henderson County the best place to live, work and raise a family.

Great things are happening in Henderson County! I humbly ask for your vote. Together, we can keep the momentum going!

Sincerely,

Brad
