A life of service.

Brad has spent most of his adult life working to make Henderson County a better place. After graduating from the University of Evansville, Brad became a reporter at The Gleaner, beginning a 20-year career in journalism that allowed him to tell the stories of both our community and its people.

In 2009 Brad was named president of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce and led that organization to new heights in membership, services and significance. In 2013 Brad took on a new role, leading regional economic development efforts. In three years in that position, Brad and his team helped secure the announcement of more than 400 new jobs and more than $47 million in capital investment in Henderson County.

Since becoming Judge-Executive in 2016, Brad has been able to make an even larger impact. Just last year, he played an instrumental, direct role in bringing Pratt Industries and its $500 million, 320-job investment to Henderson County. More than a decade of Brad’s advocacy teamwork with area leaders has led to the arrival of I-69 and the building of its Ohio River Bridge, whose first phase will start this spring. Brad’s economic development experience, his honest, collaborative approach to deal-making, and his fiscal savvy have helped Henderson County become known around the Commonwealth for its progress and positive action.

Brad is just as engaged in the community outside of his work in the courthouse. He is an active volunteer and sits on numerous local non-profit boards of directors. He’s a member of the Henderson Lions Club, and is a graduate, board member and class instructor for the Henderson Leadership Initiative.

He married Henderson-native Kelly Blanford in 1996, and they have two adult sons, Ben and Nick, who both live and work in Henderson County. Kelly is CEO of the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center, one of the largest non-profit providers of services for people with disabilities in the Tri-State. The Schneiders are members of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
